Frequently asked questions
Service area, HIPAA, specimens, STAT timing and pricing.
General
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Ann Arbor. Daily routes cover every town in our 20-mile service radius: Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Dexter, Saline, Whitmore Lake, Hamburg Township, South Lyon, Canton, Chelsea, Plymouth, Pinckney, Brighton, Northville, Westland, Novi, Wixom, Walled Lake, Milford, Howell, Farmington Hills, Commerce Township, Hartland and Highland. Regional runs reach Ingham, Jackson, Calhoun, Hillsdale and Lenawee counties, plus Detroit-area labs and DTW airport, by arrangement.
Do you only do medical deliveries?
No. Medical courier work is one of our specialties, but we also run scheduled routes, same-day local delivery and contract logistics for shops, offices, contractors, distributors and individuals.
What can you deliver?
Prescriptions and lab specimens, parts and tools, documents, retail and online orders, supplies and small equipment. Most runs fit in a standard SUV; larger items and pallet loads can be arranged.
Are you HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Every driver completes HIPAA training every year, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement with any client whose deliveries include patient information. Labels and paperwork stay closed and out of sight, and we never keep patient details longer than your agreement allows.
Will you sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)?
Yes. We'll sign yours, or we can provide ours for your review.
Can you transport lab specimens?
Yes. We handle ambient, refrigerated and frozen specimens, use Category B (UN3373) triple packaging, and record chain of custody at every hand-off. Vehicles carry spill kits, and drivers are trained under OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
Do you run in bad weather?
Yes. We drive rain or shine, through lake-effect snow, ice and summer heat. Insulated containers keep specimens from freezing in January and overheating in August. If roads become truly dangerous, we call you before the pickup window with a plan instead of simply not showing up.
How fast is a STAT pickup?
In our core area, typically within [60] minutes of your call. We'll tell you an honest pickup time on the phone before you book.
How does pricing work?
Single runs are priced by distance and urgency. Regular clients usually choose a scheduled route with a flat monthly price. Tell us what you need and we'll send a written quote within one business day.
Do I get proof of delivery?
Every delivery is time-stamped with a signature or photo, and you can request the delivery log for any date.
Do you work with small independent pharmacies?
That's our main focus. Most of our clients are local, independently owned pharmacies, practices and labs that want a courier they know by name.
Are you a woman-owned business?
Yes. We're a locally owned, woman-owned business based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Scheduled Routes
How is a route priced?
Routes are priced monthly based on the number of stops, distance and frequency. Adding a stop is simple, and same-day runs for route clients are billed at a reduced rate.
Will I get the same driver?
Yes. Routes are run by the same person whenever possible, which means fewer mistakes and staff who know who to expect.
Can the route change day to day?
Yes. Call or text by a set time and we'll add or skip stops that day.
Medical Courier
Are you HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Every driver completes HIPAA training every year, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement with any client whose deliveries include patient information.
Can you transport lab specimens?
Yes. We handle ambient, refrigerated and frozen specimens, use Category B (UN3373) triple packaging, and record chain of custody at every hand-off.
Do you deliver controlled substances?
We deliver on behalf of licensed pharmacies and follow each pharmacy's policy for controlled substances, including ID checks and adult signatures.
Local Delivery
What size items can you deliver?
Most deliveries fit in a standard SUV: boxes, parts, documents and small furniture. Larger items and pallet loads can be arranged; ask when you request a quote.
Do you deliver for individuals, not just businesses?
Yes. If you need something picked up and dropped off locally, we can help. Pricing is per trip.
Can you pick something up from a store for me?
Yes. If the item is paid for and ready for pickup, we'll collect it and deliver it to you or your customer.
Contract Logistics
How is contract work priced?
Usually a flat weekly or monthly rate based on hours, stops and miles. We put it in writing before we start.
Is there a long-term contract?
No long commitment is required. Most clients start with a trial month.
Do you go beyond your local area?
Yes. Daily routes stay within about 20 miles of our base, and regional runs reach Ingham, Jackson, Calhoun, Hillsdale and Lenawee counties by arrangement.
Pharmacy & Prescription Delivery
Can you deliver refrigerated medications?
Yes. Refrigerated items travel in insulated bags with cold packs, kept separate from room-temperature orders. If a patient isn't home, cold items come back to the pharmacy rather than being left at the door, unless your policy says otherwise.
What happens if the patient isn't home?
We follow your instructions for each order: leave in a secure spot, try a neighbor or front desk, or return to the pharmacy. Every attempt is logged with a time stamp and photo.
Do you deliver controlled substances?
We deliver on behalf of licensed pharmacies and follow each pharmacy's policy for controlled substances, including ID checks and adult signatures. Your pharmacist stays in charge of what goes out and how.
Lab Specimen Transport
How do you keep specimens at the right temperature?
Each vehicle carries separate insulated containers for ambient, refrigerated (2–8 °C) and frozen specimens, with gel packs or dry ice as the lab requires. We never mix temperature classes in one container.
What packaging do you use?
We follow the triple-packaging standard for Category B biological substances (UN3373): a leak-proof primary container, a sealed secondary bag with absorbent, and a rigid outer container. We can supply packaging or use yours.
Can you make end-of-day pickups at several offices?
Yes. That's one of the most common routes we run: a sweep of several practices in the afternoon, delivered to the lab before its cut-off.
Same-Day & STAT Runs
How fast can you pick up?
In our core area (Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Brighton and nearby towns) pickup is typically within [60] minutes of your call. Farther pickups depend on distance; we'll give you an honest time on the phone.
Do STAT runs cost more?
Yes. A STAT run is a dedicated trip, so it's priced per run with a rush rate. Clients on a scheduled route get a lower STAT rate.
Can I book a STAT run after hours?
After-hours and weekend runs are available by arrangement. Regular clients get an after-hours number.
Still have a question?
Call or text and you'll talk to the owner, usually the same hour.
